Welcome to the big wheel! Pick a style, hit SPIN, and the wheel deals a whole new set of names. Tap any name on the wheel to see it up close with its meaning. Every spin deals all-fresh names — tap Hold to pin a name right on the wheel so it survives the next spin, or tap the heart to put it up on the Faves Board.
Start wide, then narrow. Spin with no style filters and heart everything that makes you smile — most parents find their shortlist hiding in the first three or four spins. Then turn the filters on: if your list is full of vintage names, that's your style talking, so spin vintage-only and compare the best of that world against each other.
Say finalists out loud with your last name, initials and all. Check the nickname gravity — a name you love can still be shortened by every teacher your child ever has, so make sure you like the short version too. And if you and your partner keep vetoing each other's favorites, spin together and only keep names you both heart. The overlap list is usually short, and it's usually where the winner lives.
Three to five is the sweet spot. Enough to have a real choice at the hospital, few enough that you can say each one out loud for a week and notice which one starts to feel like your kid.
Very much so — unisex names have climbed steadily for two decades, and names like Rowan, Quinn, and Wren read as modern without reading as a fad. If you like a name on any baby, it qualifies.
Popularity isn't what it used to be. Even the #1 name now goes to about 1 in 100 babies, so a 'popular' name no longer means five kids in every classroom. Pick the name you love, not the ranking.
Yes — tap the heart on any name and it joins your favorites list on this page. Favorites are stored in your browser only, so they'll be here when you come back on the same device.
